In 1972, Dan Fry, a business and society astrologer, was one of the first urban pioneers to purchase a home in Munger Place when it was in its most deteriorated condition and considered the worst neighborhood in Dallas. He introduced the neighborhood to billionaires, judges, elected officials, and reintroduced it to Dallas society. He, along with other early Old East Dallas urban pioneers, helped lobby for Swiss Avenue to become a historic district.

In the early 1970s, Dan Fry, esteemed astrologer to successful business persons, politicians and civic leaders, preserved the home, when those walking through the neighborhood were generally drunks, drug addicts or streetwise professionals.
