Longhorn Ballroom Legacies Patron Tour
One of the treats of being a Legacies History Conference patron was a tour of the Longhorn Ballroom found in the Cedars neighborhood owned and renovated by Edwin Cabaniss.
We saw the original bar that was moved to the Proprietor’s Room. We saw original murals that have been uncovered. We saw pictures of the previous owners and costumes of performers that ranged from James Brown to Tammy Wynette. We saw Bob Wills’ saddle that he wore on Pumpkin, his horse, that he rode across the dance floor every evening. The Longhorn Ballroom has fabulous performing acts across many styles of music. The tour was both informative and nostalgic. It is truly a Dallas historic landmark.
