Wall Street Journal Gives Award

Dallas and its architecturally significant homes took center stage when Douglas Newby was recently presented the Hall of Fame Award for the Best Property Marketing Campaign by the Leaders in Luxury. The top real estate brokers in the country specializing in estate properties and luxury residences met at the annual conclave to share ideas and to hear from distinguished experts on economics, design, real estate, marketing, and the direction of luxury. This year’s speakers included Greg Furman, founder of New York’s Luxury Marketing Council, and Richard Baker of Premium Knowledge Group Interactive.

The previous Luxury Conclaves were held in The Lakes of Las Vegas and Palm Beach. This year the nation’s best 100 upper-tier realtors convened in Dallas. Douglas Newby said, “It is always exciting to be recognized by your colleagues, but it is even more gratifying to introduce these realtors from across the country to the architecturally significant homes of Dallas. These talented realtors have worked with the most expensive homes in the nation and felt they had seen the best until they came to Dallas. They were stunned by the majestic setting and grace of the Strait Lane estate home designed by architect Robbie Fusch and built by architect and contractor William Geter that I am offering for sale. They were equally impressed by their visit to the sophisticated and sublime modern home designed by architect Max Levy with the interior designed by Nancy Lieb perfectly complementing the home.”

When Newby accepted the Hall of Fame Best Property Marketing Award he explained, “I have an advantage because of the extraordinary quality of residential architecture in Dallas.” After seeing these Dallas homes, Vivian Bridaham, the most successful broker of estate homes in Montana, said, “Douglas is right. Dallas has a great collection of architecturally significant homes.”

Earlier, Vivian Bridaham, Patricia Choi of Hawaii, Paula Berthelot of Santa Fe, Betty Brachman of San Francisco, all offering the most expensive properties in their region, made up a panel moderated by Douglas Newby that discussed their approach to consistently selling the most important homes in their market. The consensus of these remarkable agents selling homes up to $50,000,000 was their emphasis on the quality of the homes they represent versus the quantity of sales they produce. Douglas Newby and every agent on the panel said they deliberately limited the number of homes they offered for sale and the buyers they represented, as they were committed to their clients, not volume.

Douglas Newby adds, “I further edit the properties I offer for sale because Dallas is a smart city that responds to the very best.”
