Lang & Witchell Design
5002 Swiss Avenue, Dallas, Texas
The Higginbotham family was one of the most prominent families in Dallas that included owning the largest lumber business. They hired the noted architectural firm of Lang and Witchell responsible for many of the important downtown buildings to design their modern Prairie style home at 5002 Swiss Avenue. The design architect on this home was Charles Erwin Barglebaugh who had previously worked in Frank Lloyd Wright’s Chicago office. While Prairie style had a great influence on all the homes on Swiss Avenue, this is the one home that had the clearest elements of Prairie style.
