Wilson Fuqua Designed Spanish Colonial Real Estate
4304 Arcady Avenue, Dallas, Texas

In 1992, Wilson Fuqua carefully delineated the front door and the stacked architectural elements above to create a composition that stands alone, blends in, and contributes to the Spanish Colonial revival style of the home. The front door is massive and austere but the home becomes more animated with delicate detailing, operable shutters, wrought iron balconies and landscaping that creates patters of shadows n the austere facade. Pairs of tall, thin, four light casement segmented arch windows have segmented arches above the windows created by scooped out stucco consistent with the Spanish Colonial style. The home is one room deep allowing natural light on three sides in many of the rooms. The courtyard stucco wall right of the central entry creates a private courtyard and a subtle backdrop for the fig ivy and plant life. Blended S shape clay adds color to the smooth, warm gray surfaces of the home.
